Sheriff Larry Campbell, 72, passed away December 24, 2014. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a long time resident of Tallahassee. Since 1996 he served as Sheriff of Leon County. His career in law enforcement began in 1961; Sheriff Campbell protected the citizens of the State of Florida for 53 years.

Sheriff Campbell is a Marine, a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite Marzqu Shrine Temple and a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Machelle; son, Jack Campbell (Krista); two daughters, Jeannette Campbell Bjorklund (Chip), and Stephanie Meghan Capps (Gary); grandchildren, Colton Laurence, Campbell James, Carsyn Taylor, and Kaden John; brother, David Ferrell (Bronwyn); and father-in-law, John P.
