Frances B. Yates, 75, of Tallahassee died Sunday (4/22) at her home. Born and raised in Tallahassee, she has been a resident of the area her whole life.
She was Methodist and had worked as an administrative assistant for the Leon County School System prior to her retirement. She loved her family, the beach, the ocean, and nature. Her father built a cottage on St Teresa Beach after WWII. It remains in the family and she would take her children there for vacations and weekends. She was always proud of her family and her family history and that they were a part of the first settlers to the Tallahassee area.
She was of quick wit and enjoyed telling jokes and teasing those around her. Survivors include her husband: Bill; sons: James (Cheri) of Tallahassee, Brian (Kate) of Albany, NY; and grandchildren: Kyle, Amber and Riley.. ... more
